We cannot afford to lose curiosity
Did you ever wonder ‘why is the sky blue?’, ‘why do the stars twinkle?’, ‘where am I from?’ When you were younger? Are you still puzzled about other questions now? Undoubtedly our answer is yes, because we’ve been always curious about the world we live in since we were born. There are so many questions and we are eager to find the answers. That’s so-called curiosity. Curiosity is an everlasting flame that burns in everyone’s mind. Curiosity is such a powerful force that we cannot afford to lose it. Without curiosity, we wouldn’t be who we are today. It is curiosity that drives us through our everyday lives. We are so interested in the unknown that we try to explore and discover the truth. So we have become explorers and scientists with our need to ask questions and to wonder.
As we know, it is due to the curiosity that Issac Newton finally discovered gravitation. Without Watt's curiosity, there would be no steam engine. So the industrial revolution in Britain would be postponed. And also, out of the curiosity about the Olympic athletics spirit, Coubertin ultimately created modern Olympic Games.
It is no doubt that there are many risks and dangers we'll meet and face on the way of pursuing knowledge and truth. But despite that, we still continue to wonder, dream, create and hope. Luckily, we have discovered so much about the world, but still so little. We will never know everything there is to know, but with our burning curiosity, we are glad to have learned so much.
