Mark Twain, one of the best known American writers in the 19th century, was born in1835, in Missouri of the United States. Mark Twain’s hometown lies on the banks of the Mississippi River, where he spent his childhood. When he grew up he worked as a sailor on a riverboat for some time. Mark Twain wrote a lot of novels, among which The Adventure of Tom Sawyer is the most famous one. Some of his writings have been translated into many languages. He died in 1910, but his books are deeply loved by readers throughout the world.
