Summary

We mainly talk the trash-filled gyres in the North Pacific and its effect on the surrounding fishes in this article,then further evaluate on human body in the long term.Before building our model,we have studied many research materials concerning the distribution and consistency of plastics in the marine,with these materials,we can substantially define the component and distribution of contamination,but we find that there is littile research about the contents of these plastics and how enter the human body. Therefore, we build a model concerning the bioaccumulation of plastics and its transferring in the food chain based on the paper of C.J.Moore. On the basis of the method of sampling and the sample data in the article “A comparison of Plastic and Plankton in the North Pacific Central Gyre”,we abstract the actual food chain into four levels,and chose the typical model in the North Pacific:plankton→clupeoids→cods→human beings.In view of the fact that the main plastic trash detected in Moore’s paper is PCBs,we chose PCBs as our main object of study.Now all the assumptions and prerequisites of our model is adequate,we build our model point to the bioaccumulation of plastic trash in fish after the model Logister concerning population growth.We find that there is a relationshiop between the consistency of plastic in the marine and in fish,after a period of time,the plastic consistency in fish will reach a balance,then these plastic will pass on from one class to another,finally we can estimate the amount of plastic a man take in by this way is 652mg according to the amount of fish a man eat every year,comparing this data with the result of medical research,we can conclude that the plastic accumulated in human body has a serious effect on human being,especially the carcinogenic action,such as the liver cancer and the lung cancer,and its has negative effect on the nervous system and the secretory system.

In view of the above,we suggest that our government should regiment the production of poisonous plastic and intensifying the efforts to large-scale plastic recycling and centralized processing for the purpose of preventing plastic particle enter the environment directly.
