I’m more outgoing than my sister.

Language goal: In this unit ，students learn to talk about personal traits and how to compare people.

Step1:Organizing class

Let s sing a song“Can you come to my party?”OK?

Ss:Yes.Ss sing the song together after the screen.

Now let s share the proverb:A friend is easier lost than found.It means“得朋友难，失朋友易。”此处的“easier… than ”比…/更容易.是形容词比较级的用法。This class ,we are going to learn “I m more outgoing than my sister.”The screen shows the topic.

【设计意图】教师以歌曲调动学生的兴奋点,从而让学生带着愉悦的心情进入新知识的学习.通过名言的展示，自然地导入了本课的教学目标，使学生很快地积极地投入到入到本课的英语学习中来。

Step2:Pre-task:

T:Let s look at the famous stars on the screen: Pan Changjiang ,Han Hong and Yao Ming .ask; What does he/she look like?

S1:Pan Changjiang is short and funny.

S2:Han Hong is short and heavy.

S3:Yao Ming is tall and medium height.

Then shows more famous stars pictures on the screen:Liu Xiang,Li Yong,Zhao Benshan etc to talk about personal traits.

【设计意图】这一环节利用学生所喜欢的、所崇拜的偶像明星的图片，来吸引学生的眼球，旨在激发学生的认知兴趣。通过对学生所熟知的明星人物的描述，为导入本课新知识做了很好的铺垫，同时也有利于培养学生主动参与、积极表达自己观点的能力，有利于培养学运用英语交际的的口头表达能力.

Step3:Presentation

Task1 T:Look at the twin sisters:Tera and Tina ,make sentences with“as…as”and “not…as/so …as”,according to the key words:tall,beautiful,lovely,funny,outgoing,athletic. S1:Tina is as tall as Tara.

S2 :Tina is not as/so funny as Tara.

Ask other students to make sentences in the same way.

【设计意图】这一环节通过让学生对“as…as”和“not as/so…as ”进行口头上的练习，让学生在感性上初步掌握了“和..一样、相同”的形容词的同级进行比较的用法，为后面学习形容词的比较级起了很好的铺垫作用。

Task2Show a picture of Pan Changjiang and Liu Xiang on the screen.

T say and write :Pan Changjiang is shorter than Liu Xiang.

Then ask students make sentences in the same way with

“…taller…than

…funnier…than

…heavier…than

…younger…than
