Abstract.WeinvestigatethestarclustersysteminthestarburstgalaxyNGC7673usingarchivalHubbleSpaceTelescopeWFPC2broad-bandimages.Forthe rsttimeweareabletoexaminetheinternalstructuresoftheprominentopticalclumpsinthisgalaxy.Theclumpsarecomposedofyoungstars,16 33%ofwhichareinbrightstarclusters.Weidentify268starclustercandidatesinboththeF555WandF814Wimages,and50clusterswiththeF255W lter.Thesedataallowustoestimateagesandmassesusingcolor-magnitudeandtwo-colordiagramsforoursample.We ndapopulationofyoung,<6Myrclus-terslocatedthroughoutthegalaxywithconcentrationsintheclumps.Starclustermassestimatesare5 50×104M⊙forthebrightestobjects.Thestarburstremainsactiveinphysicallywell-separatedregions,indicatingawidespreadstarbursttrigger.Wediscussclumplifetimes,theirimpli-cationsforthefutureevolutionofNGC7673,andpossiblerelationshipstohighredshiftstarbursts.
