Globalization of food supply and distribution has increased the demands for evidence of product safety and quality. Conventional techniques for many analytical assays fail to meet today’s stringent requirements for sensitivity. Speed, throughput, and total analysis times often become rate-limiting factors.

Biacore Q (Fig 1) is a biosensor-based system dedicated to screening and quantitation of food samples. The

combination of simple sample preparation, automation, and fast analysis times ensures same-day results. Biacore Q is designed for routine use with QflexTM kits (Fig 2) for the quantitation of vitamin content in almost any food matrix, and for development of your own assay.

The single platform concept means that users can easily switch between Qflex kits or create and optimize their own assays. The system delivers consistent, reliable results that increase productivity and reduce the need for re-testing. This enables food manufacturers to maintain a closer

control of the production process and allows earlier release of final product. Analysis using Biacore Q and Qflex kits provides excellent correlation with conventional methods and has received acceptance with many regulatory bodies.Key benefits:
